Installation of HP 8230e Portable CD Writer

Notice

The HP 8230e Portable CD Writer is a USB device and will only work with computers running operating systems that support USB devices. Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95 do not support USB devices. If you run either of these operating systems, you must upgrade to Windows 2000 or Windows XP to use this CD writer.

Procedure
  1. Connect the power supply to the CD writer.
  2. Connect the power supply to a wall outlet.
  3. Connect the USB data cable to the CD writer.
  4. Connect the USB data cable to your computer.
  5. Install the drivers. Click here to download the drivers in a zip file.
  6. Install the software to run the CD writer from the CD-ROM found in the case. You will need to install Easy CD creator and DirectCD.

Note: The drivers and software will only need to be installed the first time you use the drive.
